What inspired the brand name?
Unintended was inspired by the idea that life has no plans. It was meant to inspire, in the sense of take action at what life gives you and do what you want.
At what moment did you realize you wanted to start a brand?
I was 14 -15 years old when I realized I wanted to start a brand one day. As a kid I loved going into Active stores and look at what was new to buy. I loved the designs that the streetwear market provided and how different it was from a basic retail store.
What helps you get over creative blocks?
Taking some time off away from it and letting it come to me. Sometimes I tend to overthink designs and force something out because of a deadline that needs to be met. I’ve realized some of my best work comes from being patient and never forcing a new design to be finished until it’s completely done.
What is the biggest mistake you have made?
The biggest mistake I made was assuming creating a brand was easy. I notice brands on social media doing some of the first mistakes I made and could definitely see that they thought it would be easy. It's a lot of hard work and dedication to make sure each collection is better than the last and also creating a continuous connection with customers and supporters is extremely important as well.
What is the biggest success you have had?
The biggest success I've had so far has been doing what the brand was meant to do, inspire. I enjoy having people message me and feel that what I have created has made an impact some how. Whether it's providing quality clothing or helping out with design feedback, it's always a good feeling when you're able to impact someone positively.
A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION PEOPLE MAY FIND WEIRD?
Nothing too weird, just go outside and see the world. Inspiration can be found anywhere just gotta try and look at what's considered normal from a different angle.
Favorite color to use?
Black garments are definitely one of my favorites to work with. It tends to make colors pop the most and stand out from the rest.
ARE THERE ANY RETAIL SHOPS YOU WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU BRAND IN?
Ideally, I would love to see my brand on some online stores like stock x or also have my own retail store.
ANOTHER BRAND THAT INSPIRES YOU AND WHY?
There's a lot of amazing brands out there that are always pushing the market in a new direction and it's hard to choose. They're all inspiring in their own way whether it's art style, business model, marketing methods, etc.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF AND THE BRAND IN 1 YEAR AND 5 YEARS?
In one year, I'm looking to continue growing the brand and keep creating new designs for our supporters.
In five years, ideally a store front and providing employment for like minded artists.
IN 5 WORDS OR LESS DESCRIBE YOUR BRAND?
Unpredictable, creative, bold, different, and streetwear
