What inspired the brand name?
My senior year of high school, I looked at a lot of my female friends as romantic opportunities. It was an unhealthy mindset and I was sort of addicted to falling in love. "I think we might be too platonic," aka we should be more than friends.
At what moment did you realize you wanted to start a brand?
I conceptualized it over a year ago, and I think it was after I had been buying from Sleep/Steady Hands/etc. for a while and I just.. wanted to do it too.
What helps you get over creative blocks?
Nothing. I gotta wait that shit out haha
What is the biggest mistake you have made?
I spent over $100 on a sample just for them to use the entirely wrong material. I didn't ask for a refund, idk why.
What is the biggest success you have had?
Actually starting the project was huge for me - I'm a gigantic slacker so it was never a surefire thing. too platonic and some other things are really my motivator for stopping my laziness.
A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION PEOPLE MAY FIND WEIRD?
Memes. Memes are one of the best creative outlets, and they've only really begun to show their potential here in the last few years.
Favorite color to use?
Lavender, Blue and purple's kid
ARE THERE ANY RETAIL SHOPS YOU WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU BRAND IN?
I'm planning on getting my stuff in a Zumiez in Kentucky but I really don't wanna become mallcore lol
ANOTHER BRAND THAT INSPIRES YOU AND WHY?
Everyone that shouted me out (like 12 brands) but the OG is Sleep. He got me into streetwear. Also HUGE shoutout to Wes from Steady Hands, he has been the most helpful throughout this whole process. Great guy.
Where do you see yourself and the brand in 1 year and 5 years?
I am a realist at heart, I think. If the brand dies, it dies. This isn't what I want to do for the rest of my life, and I've seen way too many people try and quit for me to be confident it'll last. But for the meantime I see no reason to stop. 1 year it'll still be around, by 5 years that's less likely but if people are willing to support for that long, I'll probably keep on going.
In 5 words or less describe your brand?
I remember that night.
