What inspired the brand name?
When breaking down the definition of dynasty, it represents a structured family. We plan to succeed as a family to provide for our family, similar to Jay-Z & Roc-a-fella. Our vision is building a legacy with our movement that prospers throughout generations ahead.
At what moment did you realize you wanted to start a brand?
When realizing most of our money is spent being consumers for other brands. Owners of high end brands we supported have showed discrimination towards minorities. The solution was creating a brand that represents us.
What helps you get over creative blocks?
By finding inspiration in every way possible. It’s often through music, sports, film, fashion and/or entertainment.
What is the biggest mistake you have made?
Accidentally selling a misspelled item to a customer. This lead to a bad first impression but a customer understands mistakes are part of life after explaining the situation.
What is the biggest success you have had?
Being interviewed by Fader magazine during the Made in America festival. A significant publication posting us on the front of that article wearing our shirts meant a lot. Journalist Allie Volpe and photographer Colin Kerrigan noticed the movement when we walked in.
A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION PEOPLE MAY FIND WEIRD?
Watching interviews from successful people in their craft. It’s a reminder to remain humble, hardworking, and never give up on what's important.
Favorite color to use?
Either black or blue. We prefer these colors because it coordinates with the New York Yankees and Mets hats. Coming from NY, the hats of these teams are a staple to our fashion.
ARE THERE ANY RETAIL SHOPS YOU WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU BRAND IN?
We would love to see our brand in retail shops like Barneys Co-Op , Round Two, and Saks 5th Ave. A lot of work is ahead before these goals can become reality.
ANOTHER BRAND THAT INSPIRES YOU AND WHY?
OffWhite by Virgil Abloh. In today's fashion, the clothing is worn globally by people of all ages, genders, and ethnicities. Also, it represents more than streetwear or high end fashion by succeeding past typical boundaries.
Where do you see yourself and the brand in 1 year and 5 years?
In a year, we see the brand expanding and gaining more loyal customers with our clothing. This goal is attainable by increasing our consistency, quality, and creativity.
In 5 years , we see us owning our own retail store. This allows us to build a personal connection with customers and create the ambiance we desire.
In 5 words or less describe your brand?
The next movement from NY.
