WHAT INSPIRED THE BRAND NAME?
Honestly not too sure, came up with the name and it resonated with us, along with the letter forms looking nice together.
AT WHAT MOMENT DID YOU REALIZE YOU WANTED TO START A BRAND?
Started to get more into clothes later in high school, and thought I could bring my graphic design background into it. Later got a sewing machine and now we're here.
WHAT HELPS YOU GET OVER CREATIVE BLOCKS?
Looking at visually pleasing forms of media such as runway shows, art installations, and general photography and art help me come up with ideas.
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE YOU EVER MADE?
Biggest mistake would definitely have to be not starting sooner.
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST SUCCESS YOU HAVE HAD?
Biggest success was our pop-up show we held on Feb. 7 in DTN PHX.
A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION PEOPLE MAY FIND WEIRD?
I have this odd infatuation with packaging and small branding so things like interesting clips, buttons, plastic bags, and hangtags.
FAVORITE COLOR TO USE?
This changes for me over time but I've had a large draw towards cream for a few months now.
ARE THERE ANY RETAIL SHOPS YOU WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU BRAND IN?
Would love to see our stuff in Selfridges, SSENSE, HBX, etc. but that's thinking too far in the future, we'll have to see.
ANOTHER BRAND THAT INSPIRES YOU AND WHY?
Definitely A-COLD-WALL*. The brand does nothing but innovate and I greatly appreciate the fine details and complexity of their pieces, along with their runway presentations.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF AND THE BRAND IN 1 YEAR AND 5 YEARS?
In 1 year we're hoping to grow as much as possible and get into more cut and sew pieces as well as larger drops. Currently we're doing a lot of 1/1 pieces along with general 15-20 piece runs. 5 years in the future is a bit too far to think about, hopefully we're still doing the same stuff just bigger and better, and hopefully collaborating with other artists and brands.
